17 不偏待人
星期四 雅各書 2:1~7
警告偏私 The Royal Rule of Love
1 我的弟兄們，你們信奉我們榮耀的 1-4 My dear friends, don’t let public opinion
主耶穌基督，就不可按著外貌待人。 influence how you live out our glorious,
Christ-originated faith. If a man enters
2 若有一個人戴著金戒指，穿著華麗 your church wearing an expensive suit,
的衣服，進入你們的會堂，又有一 and a street person wearing rags
個窮人穿著骯髒的衣服也進去， comes in right after him, and you say to
the man in the suit, “Sit here, sir; this is
3 而你們只看重那穿華麗衣服的人， the best seat in the house!” and either
說 ：「 請 坐 在 這 裏 」， 又 對 那 窮 人 ignore the street person or say, “Better
說：「你站在那裏」，或「坐在我腳 sit here in the back row,” haven’t you
凳旁」； segregated God’s children and proved
that you are judges who can’t be
4 這豈不是你們偏心待人，用惡意評 trusted?
斷人嗎？
5-7 Listen, dear friends. Isn’t it clear by now
5 我親愛的弟兄們，請聽，神豈不是 that God operates quite differently? He
揀選了世上的貧窮人，使他們在信 chose the world’s down-and-out as the
心上富足，並承受他所應許給那些 kingdom’s first citizens, with full rights
愛他之人的國嗎？ and privileges. This kingdom is
promised to anyone who loves God.
6 你們卻羞辱貧窮的人。欺壓你們， And here you are abusing these same
拉你們到公堂去的，不就是這些富 citizens! Isn’t it the high and mighty who
有的人嗎？ exploit you, who use the courts to rob
you blind? Aren’t they the ones who
7 毀謗為你們求告時所奉的尊名的， scorn the new name—“Christian”—
不就是他們嗎？ used in your baptisms?
