集的內容，結果登上奧斯堡要塞出版社一九九四年的暢銷書
排行榜第一名，開始在各教會運用。從那時候開始，我的譯
本出現在各個地方，包括《福音信義會崇拜手冊》
（Evangelical Lutheran Worship）。

我的譯本偶然間一舉成名，於是我從十年前的維吉尼亞
議會（Virginia Synod）開始，在美國各福音信義宗教會專講
信仰問答。這本書是由過去的專講、上課內容、數篇學術論
文去蕪存菁並擴寫而成。下述幾篇文章是這本書各章的基
礎，呈現的形式略有不同，也得到了授權。第一章的前身是
“Forming the Faith through Catechisms: Moving to Luther and
Today,”in Formation in the Faith: Catechesis for
Tomorrow, Concordia Seminary Publications, Symposium
Papers, no. 7 (St. Louis, Mo.: Concordia Seminary, 1997), 25-
48；第二章是“Luther and the Ten Commandments in the Large
Catechism,”Currents in Theology and Mission 31 (2004):
104-14；第四章是“Luther on Prayer in the Large Catechism,”
Lutheran Quarterly 18 (2004): 249-74；第五章是“Luther on
Children: Baptism and the Fourth Commandment,”Dialog 37
(1998): 185-89；第七章是“Luther’s Catechisms and the Lord’s
Supper,”Word and World 17 (1997): 54-60。本書所使用的插
圖出自一五八四年出版的《協同書》拉丁文官方第一版，惟
獨這一版包含路德從一五二九年起出版的《小問答》及《大
